What inspired you to open your own business?

Actually I’ve always been very creative and hands on, I just wanted to try it, not really sure why but once I started it was on from there and I absolutely LOVE IT.

How long have I been in business?

I’ve been in business since 2014. Of course things started off slow but they’ve picked up tremendously. I started with giving family and friends one small free candle, just to get feedback, constructive criticism and different ideas on what I should or shouldn’t change. I’ve tried many different labels, jars, and jar sizes. I think I’ve finally found the LOOK.

How did you come up with the name Scentsible Soy?

Actually an old friend helped me. He gave me a few names and Scentsible was the only one out of the few still available for registry. It fits well and I’m very satisfied with it.

Speaking of the origin of your company’s name, what made you use soy for your candles?

I chose soy candles because it’s healthier. Soy candles are made from vegetables oil and soy beans, they burn 50% longer, they burn cleaner and do not produce much black smoot, they’re non-toxic and the fragrances from soy candles are stronger then normal candles.SSC 2

Being born and raised in Detroit, what do you love about this city?

I love EVERYTHING about my city. Detroit is one of a kind. There are so many hidden jewels and so much history in this city. I am truly honored to be from the D.

So it’s a beautiful day in Detroit, where are you headed?

The best place to be in the city on a beautiful day is the Detroit Riverwalk. Walking up the riverside talking to your honey or your friends and enjoying the great view and seeing the many different nationalities coming together in one place is beautiful in itself.
